Howard decided to stay because he owed the label, group and fans one last album with Shalamar and Mikki Free and Delissa Davis was recruited. In fact lots of females auditioned for Jody's spot including Karyn White (who scored with Superwoman) who was turned down because her vocals wasn't commercial enough.

Actually, Howard was not an original member of Shalamar. Jody and Jeffrey were the original members. There were two other lead singers including Gerald Brown who were in the group before Howard joined in 1979. Gerald Brown had sang lead on their hit Take That To The Bank. Howard said that he decided to stay because he owed it to the fans, the label and the group to do one last Shalamar album.

he did background on this track and most of the Shalamar tracks from 79-83. but he was never a member of Shalamar. and actually, he's in the NIGHT TO REMEMBER video as the only patron (outside of Jody and Howard, of course).

this is the only soong i really like with this lineup of shalamar...although it seems like with howard as the only original left...he was already solo...the others 2 (micki and delissa) were just backup for him...lol...but still good video....and if jody was pissed off at howard and left the band.why did she appear in this video??
