I was born in 1959 and we also watched the "duck and cover" movies in school. It was fun, but scary at the same time. Being a military brat, I felt we had a bigger target on us than the pogues on Main Street. When I joined the Army in the late 1970s, we were convinced we soldiers could survive tactical nukes in Europe, as long as they didn't land right on us. Maybe we would have survived, but what would life have been like?
