Great wave but I don't think it "completely restructered collectively what was possible in surfing". That's not even fair to say because I've watched videos on the locals who surf there who have gotten equally heavy waves and bigger yet they don't get all that hype Laird gets. Yea and dragging your hand doesn't keep youfrom being sucked up into the wave it just slows you down so you can get tubed so stop it.

I hear people saying that, yeah there's been bigger waves ridden before and after that.. yeah, well that's true if you mean big by how tall it builds before breaking, but this particular wave is both really big and it's extremely, extremely fast and powerfull. amazing stuff and a great documentary that everyone should go and get. :), thanks for the uploader.

Good Luck ooowee, I will be thinking of you. I screwed up myself too. Got a DWI in September and lost my job. On verge of losing my truck. I do have a woman that is helping me get through it but feel she will leave me soon. I just want her to be a believer. She hates Josh and his wonderful story and it really hits me. great video...everyone who can relate in having a substance abuse problem or formerly having one should read his book, "Beyond Belief", a truly amazing story. He pretty much hit rock bottom (never attempted suicide, just out of control in his drug use) and after being haunted by demons turned to God for help overcoming the drugs and becoming the person he could be...pretty awesome stuff

He didn't push the Ferrari's off - watch it again, it was Kovalainen and it's called racing. Ironically in that race it was Massa who came back on the track and hit Lewis costing Massa a drive through penalty and putting Lewis at the back of the field. Surely you want exciting racing with competitive drivers scrapping for position, without it you're back to the dull processions of the Schumacher years. The last 2 seasons have been the best since Schumacher was at Benneton. Lewis in '09.

I love F1, best sport ever in my opinion, and I have nothing against Mclaren, there an awesome team but they need to treat both there dirvers qually, i believe they always treated Mika better than David a few years back aswell. no question that the FLOATER folley would be insurmountable for Horton. He wuz a Solid player. Being that this is MLB, the highest level of play and the fact that the FLOATER Pitch could hav been Hit by a 12yo kid wuz extremely unfortunate for Horton at that time in his career. Yes, it should have NEVER been allowed. I am an Indian's fan then & Now and would rather forget that whole incident. It was just awful thing that should never happened to any ball player :(

I'd like to add that I lived next to Miami Baseball Stadium for many years. Jim Palmer used to run around the block of my house! I saw this Yankee team many,many times. I was an Indians fan,who I could never see because they trained in Arizona,and an Orioles fan. Still,that kind of pitch,with that particular Yankee team was an insult!I don't know why Ralph Houk permitted that. I guess he had given up by then.

What I meant was that Steve Hamilton along with Fritz Peterson and the rest of the Yankee staff from that time was really not up to par with the rest of the league. I think this was the incident that sparked Tony Horton's nervous breakdown in 1970. This incredibly gifted Baseball player suffered one of the most traumatic incidents in the history of major league baseball. After reading about this for many years I finally see this!! Steve Hamilton,by the way,was a crappy pitcher. Saw him many times in the old Miami Baseball Stadium with the worst Yankee team in history. Tony Horton was a superior ballplayer in every respect.

Where he's getting the idea for a balk from is the fact that the pitchers body stops (ie he steps, but doesn't transfer his body weight onto his front foot). Balks have been called for such incidents, but I think the fact that he was winding up would let him get away with it. (Plus, as the ball was released, I doubt anyone was thinking about his action).

Tony Horton didn't have an "agent" as most players did. From what I understand his Dad was his agent. They didn't sign a contract with the baseball card people. What a shame, he was a very gifted hitter & just getting started before the tragedy of his early "retirement" two months after this incident.
