Let me be a little clearer on that...what I meant by 'getting further' was not in the competition, but in showbiz itself. Just look at the success of Carrie and Daughtry, they had an edge that she just doesnt have IMO. She is not even close to having the success they did. I love katharine McPhee is so awesome! I saw her in my hometown of Franklin Tn with Kelli Pickler dancing the night away not long ago. She was so nice to everyone... usually nashville gives the stars their space but everyone at the tin roof was wanting pics and autographs with Kat.. She was so nice to everyone.. FYI she is more even more beautiful in person!

Yeah, she blood vessel in her neck burst a few weeks prior to this. Then she she had an allergic reaction and lost her voice completely the very same day of her finale performances. And she still outsang Taylor Hicks. He just had more energy, and being "Idol" was more important to him and that came across. Kat was content with being #2

Andrea Bocelli is very amazing. I'm really touched by his talent and his kindness. If you didn't know that he had lost his sight, you wouldn't know cos in this performance he reached out his hand to hold Katharine's waist as if he knew just where she was standing.

I think mcphee can control her voice better than christina. Aguilera seemed to over power the song...mcphee has a softer voice, but with much of a presense. but...christina does better at the spanish lol, but obviously.

Wow, I knew Katherie was good but I didn't expect this. This is a love song meant to be soft and tender. They're saying how impossible it is to live without the other. Here, Katherine is much better than Christina. She emotionally connects to Andrea. Katherine sings with Andrea where Christina is trying to out sing him. For some reason I absolutely HATED her on American Idol... I can't even describe it really. It was the way the show sometimes portrayed her, I think. I didn't see her audition until after she lost, and it showed a much kinder, humble person than I'd seen in any episode. And of course I was mad at her ahead of time for being so beautiful, and I instantly decided she was conceited. I was overly and unfairly critical. But she really is talented, and I can't wait to see her in The House Bunny!

i agree that season 5 had lots of talent. it turned into a popularity contest because the front runners were Katharine and Chris. I still cant believe that Taylor won. This season right now 08 has been weird for me, i feel like the 2 davids have had the most consistency and the rest were just mediocre and they were just sticking around for the sake of having to eliminate just ONE person per week...we'll see how it turns out.
