I have to say one thing in Troy's favor: It was a Hollywood "ancient world epic" done in the old-school style. You know. Ten thousand extras in painted rubber prop armor thrashing around in a huge field. Did you see Sparticus or any of those other movies of the style? I loved them, and scenes like the beach landing really brought that back, if only on a minor scale. The fights were actually bad in the Homeric sense, there's no humanity and the fights aren't settled in one hit, (cont)
