I've often wondered about that. See, the band is from outside of Flint. Basically the east side, Burton Township (which later incorporated). Back then, you didn't cross the black/white lines, physically or musically. Flint north side was black, south and beyond was white. The record label may have had more influence back then, on the band. It was big news in town when they left their first label. You'd have thought we went to war or something with all the local coverage at the time, about 1971.

I think their Live Atlanta Pop Festival double album set has the best rendition of Heartbreaker. The whole album set showed what the band was really all about. I still have the original 1970 copies & cover bought that next year. I & my cousin who owned it originally, about wore it out back then. I got the double CD version 3 years ago. Love those Marshall stacks.

To those of you who are from Michigan, you know of the 1953 Beecher Tornado(F5). It went over Mark Farners home, blew out windows pushed his barn to a lean, touched down about 1/4 mile east and keped going killed over 130 people and he was lucky. All of the guys are great people.From real good familys.

Every time i listen to this song makes me so warm inside. My mother passed away 1 year ago in cancer and this was her favorit song. She could sit by the computer and listen to this song here at youtube hours and memory her away to her youth. Her first love worked at railroad and she looked at this video and just was so happy even she knew that her time was short. Thanks for post this here... I would have liked to hear the locomotive sounds instead of the "sound track". This is my favorite railroad. You should make some more videos of the other locomotives and put them all into one big video. Otherwise, I liked this one, although to hear the locomotive sounds would have been better.

Garcia absolutely blows me away on this. His guitar playing is a thing of stunning beauty and power. Maybe the gd's greatest attribute was their versatility. Thanks. It looks fun. I hadn't been on Pirates in almost ten years and forgot a lot of the ride. I'd like to thank Disney for the pitch black first drop into the depts of Pirate caves, then baiting me into thinking I'm safe before dropping me again! Cheaters! "Uh-Pirate"... LOL. Is jerky, or anything? I have always wanted to try this, since I'm not much of a rolelrcoaster fan I figured this would have been a good place to start. However I had scoliosis surgery and have a titanium rod in my back. While I'd probably have to be hit by a semi for the rod to uncork I just want to know how jerky-whiplash-y it is due to discomfort rather than fear. I've been on Pirates and Haaunted Mansion and GRR. BTW this Disaneyland that I'm talknig about, never been to DW. Thanks

you actually can use white polystyrine for terrain making it is just a bit harder. You have to coat it with a mix of PVA a little bit of water possibly some polyfiller and sand. that should be enought to coat it.

thats an awesome idea! heres a tip, if u need to fill in gaps or cover shallow walls, use "Great Stuff" expanding foam. we used it on ours and it looks amazing! just carve it after it hardens

Maiden in fact played several shows in the greater N.Y. area this year, all sell outs, so it's just a matter of how the bands have divided there markets and how they choose to supply the demand, so to speak, but realistically these bands are all at about the same level if you check their sales figures pound for pound (comparing say 5 years to 5 years). For all time though of course Purple is by far the biggest at this point because of how long they've been recording and touring.

tandrus7, you are an obviously biased fanboy, that's alright we all have our faults. Those bands I mentioned may not have all wanted to play Shea, they played others. Depends on where the markets are. Purp for one thing headlined the sold out Cal Jam 1 in Cali, and that was held at a bigger venue than Shea, Kiss has sold out Dodger Stadium several nights in a row, Iron Maiden chooses to play arenas, but they sell them all out, and they play at more venues than most.

Man what are you talkin about stuck in nostalgai? GFR is timeless. Mark Farner wrote music about the times. His prophetic insight about war, poverty, and crooked polictians were way ahead of the bands time. In addition they also churned out some pretty remarkable music. The best live band. Period. I know because I saw them in 74 and 75. Please do not link GFR to all the bands you mentioned. They could not move GFR's equipment in their time. Have any of them sold out Shea Stadium?

Yeah, saw Iron Maiden in Buffalo. Awesome show. Ha, they had a miss heavy metal contest and dickinson got charged for groping her during 'charlotte the harlot'! Funk has been held as one of the grandparents of heavy metal, but of course, they had a lot more going on on their own. Actually, to me, the king of metal is black sabbath. Their paranoid album was something exceptional never done before, and by many, is called the greatest metal album ever. But every band you named, I love to no end.
