You people are pretty confused :P If Hugh tanner wrote songs on KEA Metallica would have had a lawsuit on their hands. Most importantly; Mustaine CO-WROTE 4 songs on KEA, and some riff ideas of his were used on 2 songs on RTL. Thats the FACT. As said, this demo was recorded in almost a year after Mustaine was kicked out, he didnt write shit on the songs, he just has riff credits.

I beg to differ. Mustaine had the least impact. He co-wrote 6 songs, and got credit for all of them. He never performed on an album. So 9 Studio albums(including Death Magnetic) without Mustaine means he had a massive influence? Don't think so. And technically superior musically? Kirk Hammet, James Hetfield, and Lars Ulrich are the greatest thrash metal composers of all time, no one argues. Dave Ellefson said so himself, Metallica is Thrash Metal! METAL UP YOUR ASS!

i agree with opensourcethong, jason in his own right was a great bassist. in any other band he would have been the big deal, but he had the impossible task of filling Cliifs boots. metallica has been gifted with some truly great musicians, some have stayed some have gone! R.I.P cliffy boy

jason gets way too much of a hard time from alot of fans. sure he wasn't as good as cliff, but thats no reason to give him a hard time. you'd have to have been superhuman to fill cliffs boots
