It's a Kimber Ultra CDP pre-series II. I've had two series II Kimbers and both of them were garbage. This one has proved to be reliable and so it will remain with me. No, those are not factory grips. Neither is the thumb safety, the sights, the slide stop or the main spring housing. Also, the frame has had a little work.

I want one of those holsters, but I need it for a glock 22 with a tac light (tlr 1) and an extended barrel. I keep seeing one that says light bearing level 2 and 3 but it keeps saying something about a xiphos light, I don't want a light like that so I don't know if it will accept other lights, or if it's just for that xyphos light.

I just ordered this holster for my sig 220. One of the things that i like about it is, you were talking about someone could grab your gun if you were using something like a fobus, i like the release because now i think that people anticipate a thumbreak release too, so that gives you more advantage. I cant wait till i get mine!!!

Well its true the serpa sticks out a bit. I find myself carrying the Bersa 380 Delux with the Fobus holster more when I have a little tighter fitting clothes. What I have done is I kanted the holster forward a bit so the handle of the gun was tilted forward to the max which helped greatly in concealing the handle from printing. I have the XD9 Sub so when I draw it the barrel clears easier with such of a kant(sp) angle.

Very descriptive! Ive been mulling over the Serpa II for a little bit. My only question - how is it in terms of concealability? Ive got a Galco leather slide holster that hugs the body nicely, and I was concerned with losing a bit of this with the way the paddle operates. Seems like the handle might stick out a bit. What are your thoughts?

I figured I didn't "need" that much. Until someone tried to disarm me. It was a very tense moment that turned out in my favor despite not being as prepared as I should have been and it made me realize the prudence of having a backup (or two or three). Depends on the rules of the range you are visiting. I've had some ranges say, "no drawing from holsters, PERIOD." Some are okay with drawing as long as they know you. Some don't care one way or the other. If you have a place you can shoot where you make your own rules than it doesn't quite matter now does it?

You're talking about something entirely different. There are different tools for different jobs. You don't take a frying pan to install electricity and you don't take a paint brush to fix an engine. Comparatively, there are different calibers for different targets. You don't take a .308 ground hog hunting and, yes, there are certain calibers that don't belong in war. It doesn't make them less lethal, just less ideal for what they are used for.

Thanks for the video... I can't really carry when I am wearing sweat pants which feel so comfortable to me that I could wear them everyday. I am trying inside the waistband carry for my 1911. It seems to be comfortable, doesn't show much, even with everyday movement, and I get the power and reliability of a 45. Although, the hammer cocked thing kind of bugs me, I don't like the thought of bumping it and shooting myself in the ass. They mean that while the weapon is holstered, it locks by means of the Front of the trigger guard on the gun. This doesn't cause conflict with the trigger or present a dangerous situation. Of course the function of ANY holster is to NEVER have the trigger exposed while holstered, or to have your finger rest on the trigger while drawing. Only to place your finger on the trigger when you intend to destroy whatever your aiming at. Hope this helps..

I totally agree with you, I always go with the "better to be safe than sorry" mentality. I always have three things within instant reach of where I sleep: a flashlight, my cell phone and a weapon, which is my pistol if i am at home or a knife if im sleeping elsewhere, Id rather be a little "paranoid" all the time than dead. I think the magnets are a great idea.

I know people say this is being "paranoid". But you have to remember breakins usually happen with the potential perp knocking on your door first, when they don't hear someone answer they come in. If you happen to be in the shower and do not have quick access to your gun you could be screwed. If you're going to carry your gun around with you only when you think you may get hurt, then you may already be a victim and not even know it. Most encounters will take you by surprise, be ready or be dead!

The Ruger LCP and the Kel Tec work just great. You hardly recognize you have the gun on. I will do a new video specific to drawing the smaller guns. Falling out isn't at all an issue. I think when you say "deep concealment" that some drawability is sacrificed, unfortunately. There are no doubt concealed holsters that are easier to get to, but this one might conceal better. At least it looks better than smart carry, I imagine that'd be like wearing a diaper, as well as hard to draw from.

Thanks for your comments. You can draw sitting down and you don't have the seat belt and shirt covering your gun (in most cases). Unlike a IWB, this is a deep cover holster giving you far more flex than you realize. If you get the opportunity to hit a show I am at, I would like to show you first hand.
