are steroids cheating if everybody uses them? thats like saying that lifting weights to get biggger is cheating. steroids are just another resource they use to get freakishly huge, which is what we pay them for. this applys only to this sport of course, i would say it is cheating to use steroids in just about any other sport. baseball for example, only a handful of players use them. the rest are afraid of the law. but when was the last time we had a drug free MR. O? **not arguing, just a thought

This guys inspire me, everytime I need inspiration I look at this, for any type of training, no matter is it condition or strength training, they are beasts and crazy! I am trying to build up muscles but with condition trainings so I can be beast which can runn, climb, jump, hit, crush... Thx for all the best for inspiration! (P.S. I am also training muay thai but want to mix it with Ground and Pound and wrestling so I need to have body mass builded in a way to be able to spinn, rotate, jump..)

That's got to be one of the biggest myths going around about Bodybuilding. Those really muscular guys are pretty darn flexible. Many can do the splits both ways. Many can touch far below their toes with straight legs. Many can have their elbows touch each other from behind their heads etc etc. Muscle does NOT impair flexibility.

i use to bodybuild but quit because what i was really looking for was bone crushing strength. Now i train Strongman(name of sport) my overall strength,endurance,grip power has drastically increased and so far I haven't touched an Iron Bar since May. I don't know how much i powerclean,bench, or squat but I threw a kid around like a ragdoll that benches 245, squats 350 and powercleans well over 210. I don't know man but Strongman training is kinda crazy but the power that i have is crazier.

One thing is for sure: in order to build strength you have to lift weight SO HEAVY(to YOUR limit) that you can only handle it for 2-3 reps and 3 sets. Building muscle is anywhere from 8-12 reps. You should feel a horrible "burning" feeling when you try squeeze the last 2-4 reps. The LAST reps is what make muscles GROW.

the best way to keep growing I've found is by alternation of a rep range of 6 to 10, 12 at the most. 3 or sets of 6 for building mass and strength, and changing to doing sets of 10-12 to build muscle endurance, but don't back of weight too much, that just improves being weak...most importantly though are not missing any meals, eating just more quality calories than your body burns, not just eating a lot of crap, drinking plenty of water, getting at least 8 hours sleep everynight....

Nah mate 8 reps per set is good with heavy weights. Doing 8 reps help release more growth hormones and these will pack on muscle! After a few weeks go to a lighter weight and more reps. :)

everybody's different and everybody reacts different to training programs. i work with 8-5 reps too and getting good strength/size gains.. but i strongly reccomend you to try other training setups, 5x5, 8x3, 3x8, 5x20.. quality of muscle stimulation is more important than the quantity of reps you slam. peace.

well one thing is for sure, more food. currently I am consuming about 4,500 calories everyday. If you are looking only to LOOK BIGGER then you should do BodyBuilding type workouts like the dudes in this video(to where YOU feel you have enough size) Reps should range from 8-12 per set. 4 sets per workout. Food+Diet+REST=Results. You gotta push past the "pain barrier" too if you want to see results.

Very well you have gained my respect and I hope you have gained mine as well. I just wanted to say this: when you workout you HAVE to consume a lot of calories based on the amount your training,weight,etc. Simply said your "engine" has increased so fuel consumption should too. When you QUIT you go back to having a "weed eater" engine...so your fuel consumption should also DECREASE. Many don't so it lead to a GIANT spare tire.

as the later posters said, your body cannot physically turn muscle into fat. it is impossible. if bodybuilders including myself decide to stop working out and dieting, we will lost muscle but it will NOT turn into fat. There may be an increase in the amount of fat but it is not due to the loss of muscle directly. They probably let themselves go a lil more than usual since they stopped training and dieting.

You're going to need a lot more than 5 meals per day if you want somebody to double their kg body weight in protein grams. Ok the muscle gets bigger but not the heart, still the heart is a pump for blood. The bigger muscle is, the more blood you need but you heart/pump size remains the same. So it works on higher rate. People who are looking to get bigger simply need to eat more protein. the more protein you eat the more protein the body will lay donw in the muscles. For body building you should be looking at about 2g per kilogram of bodyweight of protein a day. which will mean eating small preportions of high protein foods 4-5times a day. Making sure that you dont exceed over 35g of protein at one sitting otherwise itll turn to fat or exerted out as urine.
