The only potential problem I see with this plan is that it looks like he's going to have to increase taxes for corporations, which mostly aren't doing too well right now, to follow through on many of these government funded projects. If there are less healthy corporations, there are less jobs. If people don't have jobs, the economy suffers. Otherwise it's a good plan.

I know Hong Kong is part of China. It's also self governing, except in foreign affairs. Different system from the rest of China. I have read "The Shock Doctrine". Ireland and Hong Kong are pretty nice places - Hong Kong is freer economically, has a lower unemployment rate, close in GDP, Singapore's high employment economy is hardly the root of its social legislation. I think there are 138 million tax payers in the U.S. as of 2007. If you divide the roughly 3 trillion dollars already used in the bailout divided by the number of taxpayers you get something like 21,000$ per individual. If it hits the number many think it will (7.8 trillion) it will be 56,000$ per person. Either way, that is still a lot of much needed money for the taxpayers, and a huge boost to the economy compared to what these bankers will do.

I dont know where you got the idea that this is a government problem, but it isn't. If you're talking about CRA, well those loans make up 12% of all loans in the US and arent toxic in the least. The toxicity in the credit markets comes from hedge funds and high risk loans, none of which are regulated by the government. You can make the case that the CRA is the cause (Carter), or the Capital Tax Loan Offset (Reagan) if you want, but neither addresses the underlying problem.

You are only half joking I think because. Iceland was first called snowland because all they could see first was snow. And where they settle first in in Greenland is in east part and on a very small area there there used to be a green place. So they both got their names from a relatively small areas. Or isolated circumstances. But I like better the story of the vikings that became farmers in Iceland calling it those names to divert other viking attackers to Greenland.

Aha...now I understand, what you mean. That could actually be a good idea, but I don't think it worked, since both Iceland and Greenland was discovered and settled by Vikings. Im sure Ingólfur Arnarson and his fellow Viking people, Knew what they was dealing with. They were busy as you know. Adminstrate Northern Great Britain and found Dublin + raid rest of western europe, but also help their Swedish viking brothers in raids eastwards

No you misunderstand me. The naming of Iceland and Greenland was designed in a way to bluff the vikings to go to Greenland. Wether it worked or not is not the case. Just the fact that it was dont to fool potential attackers. There are stories about vikings sailing to greenland and as far as america. I never said that Greenlanders that is the eskimos were vikings. The vikings did not settle in in greenland. They died out. And no one knows why. Maybe because they could not tolerate the cold

'Saevaroa', that is as good an explanation as any I've heard. Beside, a 'bit of deception and mimickry has frequently been used to aid survival both in Nature and in Human societies. Canada for example originally meant a lowly village in one of the native tribe's tongue. You should come and see how Iceland is. It is not as bad as people are talking about in the news. You would get a lot for your dollar because the krona is low. The problem as I see it is that many believe that we are better off outside EU. I agree that the krona is dead(At he moment at least), but Iceland has always been a fishing economy not a financial economy and it will recover within 10 years or less. And we also have alot of untapped natural resources at our disposal. Don't get me wrong the quality of life will decline(slightly) and we're in for some tough times. But it will be fine.
