I would add High Land Hard Rain by Aztec Camera, though I think it's earlier. Steve mcQueen is very under-rated, but Brilliant. First heard it in a second hand clothes shop in Newcastle in 1985. Awe inspiring.

i agree. this album was a masterpiece; it appeared in the same year (i think) as: life's rich pageant - REM viva hate - morrissey parade - prince actually - pet shop boys psychocandy - jesus and mary chain all great albums full of original clever songs....steve mcqueen is probably the most forgotten of these rare example of mid-1980s classics
