I agree. "Let's see how far we've come" I believe it means look back at what you've accomplished and enjoy it. The lyrics says that the world's coming to the end, but it also says, "Lets see how far we've come" But only the writer knows what the song means.

i don't think this song is seriously about the end of the world; i always took it as a satire of sorts of how people always say how the world is going to hell, and that the end is near because things are getting so bad. instead, the video shows all of the accomplishments of humanity in the past 100 years and shows how things are getting better.
