umm no, all the new cars are comming out diesel because they now have common rail fuel delivery and direct injection. its injected at much higher pressures which gives better atomisation along with turbos.

The guys below are correct, its an intercooler. The intercooler cools the compressed air coming from your compressor side of the turbo. The Air then goes back into the engine! This adds extra BHP because colder dense air produces a bigger bang in your engine when mixed with your fuel and ignited through compresson on a diesel due to friction or spark from plugs on a petrol.

Umm the fuel/air mixture does explode part of the reason the piston goes in and out, combust would mean burn but either way you could call it whatever you wanted. I work and develop engines and part of the basic understanding of how an engine works is the suck (air/fuel) bang (combustion/explosion) blow (waste gases through exhaust) principle. Plus the spark plug ignites the mixture to make it explode to force the piston back. No need to call anyone a dipshit when your not entirely correct!

why would it have glow plugs when its stored in a heated garage (glow plugs only help get it started, they are usually not on when they are running) Glow plugs would probably impede a bit of airflow onto the cylinders,so they would probably do without. As far as the fuel goes they probably just used high cetane, ultra low sulphur diesel.

Not true man. Sure its part of the tuning and the new DPF's and what not, but a modern diesel now-a-days' with a DPF running down a road without a turbo (so no boost) would smoke black. Black smoke in a diesel is essentially running rich, the black is actually fuel. You need the turbo (s) for the added air (in the form of boost) so that the air fuel mixture doesnt go to rich hence black smoke. FYI running a diesel rich doesnt hurt it, it just causes high EGT's. Running lean means less power.

black smoke from diesels are actually not completely gone with the new diesel engines the new diesel engines dont blow black smoke when theyre stock but they do blow black smoke if you have fuel delivery upgrades or if you have a programmer in them the only programmer i have seen that keeps the diesels from smoking is the banks and those are POS from the ones i have seen you could also do fuel upgrades and then a turbo or cold air intake and the turbo and intake will reduce amount of black smoke

That's right, it was AMC. It was introduced as the Nash Rambler in 1950, and four years later Nash merged with Hudson to form AMC. The Rambler was built as both a Nash and a Hudson for a couple of years, then in 1957 Rambler became a make in its own right and both Nash and Hudson were discontinued. Rambler itself was discontinued in 1969, then AMC was absorbed by Chrysler in 1987. Hope that settles the question for everybody!

OMG! I just took a real close look and it seems there is an engine hidden in the back(as seen by where the driveshaft leads to). Now I believe that the HEMI up top is just a dummy engine, which makes sense why the anouncer sais it`s a``BB-Chevy BETWEEN THE REAR FRAM RAILS``. Kool, I corrected myself, so no need to bash :) NOW! you guys can stop arguing, and everyone can be happy that they were all correct(It is most likely Chevy powered AND has a HEMI engine(probably a dummy) on it. This race tests nothing but the POWERTRAIN. The Lambo as you can see has less accelerating power than that Impala. If you knew anything about American cars, then you wouldn't be saying that "most" of the ones that were built for PERFORMANCE (the Impala you see here is a family car...with the engine/powertrain upgraded by the owner) can't handle turns. I will leave that BROAD subject at that.
