Anyone who enoys Rowan Atkinson and Hugh Laurie together would probably enjoy Blackadder third series. I recommend the episode "Ink and Incapability" where Robbie Coltrane (of Hagrid fame) plays Dr Johnson.

volgodon: I was thinking just that, he's more businesslike and efficient than Laurie. Shakespeare was certainly out to make some good money, and I doubt he needed a personal editor! Just the Master Of The Revels (as far as I know), who the actors partly controlled anyway. And what's the effete blonde wig and pink garb all about too, are they taking the mickey? From contemporary portraits of the time, most men of his station wore almost entirely brown clothing, with plain white collars.

The real Shakespeare was probably a lot closer to the Rowan Atkinson character than the Hugh Laurie one.
