Once you have saved a few lives with your radio skills no one is going to quibble about whether you have a license or not. Also if anyone who actually has a license gets all snooty about it on air and tries to pull you up you can suggest that they simply 'f**k off* and make up a new callsign and put on a funny voice...problem solved.

that's an FIR camera (I think, infrared, not that expensive). it can detect heat. might want to look into max/msp- calibrate the screen/area it looks at (the camera) and have it scan across the pixels left to right in some multiple. I don't know how to put this- it's not that hard, and simply getting it to read the video screen to make a physical sequencer isn't that big of a deal. these people have work to do in making the sequencer itself interesting and different.
