The thing that makes this song unique and beautiful is that it makes no sense, all of the amazingly sung and classic songs usually make no sense. So what makes Regina Spektor an absolute sensational artist is that a lot of her lyrics make no sense apart from the icy heart touching phrases she uses eg. I like this song. Its so pretty and it goes along with the movie so well. Also, I read in an article that in the books, Lewis intended for them to be older than what people actually think they are. Agreed - It's all about love and respect. Regina Spektor is a monster talent (writer, player, singer, performer). I saw her wow 10,000 people with nothing but a piano in Austin (ACL) last year. Anybody that loves John Lennon should be jazzed that an artist with this much credibility and talent is keeping his work alive. Trust me this version got people that never heard of the Beatles to go buy music . . . (and make Michael Jackson money - but that's another story!!).

I learned her late too. About a year and a half ago when she was doing the Late Night shows for 'Begin To Hope'. I'm kind of obsessed with her now. Everything she does is just so interesting and different and great. She isn't just someone who had a cool song or two, she's like a whole new genre that hasn't been done before. She's hard to explain. But fun to figure out :) P.S. - And it just figures that she's beautiful to look at too. The girl's got it all
