They always calculate it so that it will be close at the end. They never use a car that'll win easily, or give the challenger something that will make it simple for them either. Kind of like those show races where you have a regular car, a supercar and then like an F1 car in staggered starts and they end within seconds of each other.

I guess you don't understand aerodynamics and power to weight ratio. The superlite weighs 2000 lb, I don't think the bugatti has an interior that weighs 1 full ton. A turbo chevy small block can easily achieve a reliable 1400 hp, if both cars had the same gearing think about which car would be faster, the 2000 pound car with 1400 hp or the 4000 pound car that has 400 less hp. Its common sense, superlite owners don't have to make vids to prove what their cars are capable of. They just win races.
