Aunque un poco tarde... No puedo evitar hacer el comentario. Me ha encantado el "momento mujeres". Me encanta la apreciación entre ayudar y colaborar y creo que hay menos mujeres en el area tecnológica por que simplemente le prestan menos atención a ese campo. For endurance is good to do 5 sets of 3 minutes non stop climbing with 1 minute rest between sets. its totally worth it..and if you can get any aid to help, and have some sort of a job while attending, it will make it even easier to pay for. dont pass it up..

Well....I think that quarters don't give you time to slack off...so you end up with better grades...and better at managing your time. I think this was the least of my worries. They have the same tuition, but since I live in LA, commuting would spare me housing costs. I'm paying my tuition solely on scholarships, so it was a big decision. I couldn't just go and expect to see what happens; money was a big factor which makes me hate the fact that I'm poor.

Thank you napaold. I made the biggest decision of my life just on Sunday whether to ultimately send in my SIR to Cal or UCLA, and I chose UCLA. I pondered on it for a whole month, and despite that my heart was set on Cal, finacially UCLA was more realistic, since my whole life is in LA, most importantly my job, which pays my bills. It would had been great to have attended Cal, but I will try not to look back on my decision and be happy with UCLA.

ALL UC's are top notch, but Cal is the best public institution in the world and recognized throughout the world (over the others). Also the most diverse. Couple of months ago I visited a startup in Westwood (UCLA) and talked to founders: couple of UCLA profs and PhD candidates. I (jokingly) apologized for having gone to Cal (30 yrs ago); they (jokingly but begrudgingly) acknowledged that I was smarter. :D We had a laugh because we're brothers in a sense. Go to a UC; Cal if you can!

Yea a degree from Cal Engineering (or the other couple of top engineering schools) goes a long way compared to other colleges.

I got into UC's at Berkeley, Los Angeles, Irvine, and Santa Barbara as a transfer. I'm still deciding where to go...I have been convinced to go to Berkeley because it's a top school, but my financial situation limits that decision. Is UCLA worth it? It's not everyday that you get into a top school like Berkeley in the Engineering department (Bioengineering). Any advise? Would paying for my expenses all out of my pocket worth the Berkeley diploma? (At least 40,000 in debt for two years?)
