seeing as cookie monster vocals is not a style worthy of imitation, i could care less about the assclowns who sing like that, and I'm a huge fan of the speed metal and heavy metal greats. Rob Zombie pioneered that style, and I'm fine with him doing it, although I knew many who couldnt take it, and he is mild compared to the jokers who do it now. Like Layne Staley, one guy is original, the rest SUCK. Mayer is not inspired by Matthews, he jacked his musical style and his phrasing and singing style

I see your comparison but all of Big Country's videos were outside running around. "I feel the winter too"..Stuart Adamson I miss you ,the anniversary of his death is Dec. 18th. This band was always spoken of in the same breath as U2, but if you listened to them back in the eighties, they held a special place aside from U2 for many us. I played this ep into the ground!

And on the subject of Icelandic jumpers, my ma used to knit them for me and my brother, she always made the necks too tight and I can still recall the sore ears taking them off and her telling me that they would "slacken off". I remember when this first came out, I was 11years old and my older bro woke me up to play it to me as he was so enraptured by it (esp chorus by Phillip Bailey). At the time I was pissed off as all I wanted to do was sleep. However now older and wiser I can see what the fuss was about and why he was so excited to wake me up to play it to me. This must be one of the all time great dance classics!

I'll tell you why. Because whether it really has drug overtones or not, it most certainly has aspects of drug use, even if unintentional. The pipe smoking caterpillar, mushrooms, inanimate objects that talk (very strangely at that). I've never done drugs myself, but my bf's sons have had problems with them over the past few years so I'm well aware of how this COULD be percieved as being about an opium trip.

OH, thank you so much! This was the best version of the Alice ride I have ever found, and it always makes me smile. Oh my God, I just want to go back there SO bad. It's been over 10 years, so rides like this don't exist anymore, do they? Same as the Monsanto: Adventure Thru Inner Space...that was a groovy ride as a kid, teen, and adult. If you haven't read "Alice's Adventures in Wonderland," or even if you have, try to get hold of a reproduction of the first edition with those wonderfully detailed John Tenneil illustrations. Newer printings of the book with more modern illustrations just don't have the same Victorian charm.
