The philosophy of forgiveness and love works to keep them happy. When someone insults you, do you start a fight with them, or forgive them and go on your way? If you would rather fight, that's fine. I have no problem with people enjoying science fiction like the bible, but when they apply it to life here in the 21st century it does bother me. And to answer your question, I don't need an ancient piece of propagaganda to find piece in my life. We all have our vices, and I guess for some folks the bible is the drug of choice.
