I don't think this was an ALL out Government conspiracy. I do believe IMHO, that the World Trade Center had within its structure a safety mechanism that could implode the building in emergency such as fire, or ironically enough, an aircraft collision. I believe that the "authorities" decided to initiate these devices to implode the twin towers because if the top of the building collapsed sideways, it would have cause huge fires that would have burned down Manhattan. I dont know what exactly to believe, but there are several interviews with people in all parts of the building that heard seperate explosions long before the tower collapsed , including accounts from firefighters. I find this very odd. I think it is completely american to question all important events. The scene at 2:02 is very interesting, have not seen that in any other video?. You will see flashes and puffs BEFORE the building starts to fall, and you will also hear each explosion clearly BEFORE it begins to fall. What did you expect him to do? British manufacturing industry has been in decline since the 1870s - inevitably so. We could only compete with the 3rd world if we paid ourselves 3rd world wages. It is of course not immediately obvious why a largely car-driving or bus-using general public should pay taxes so 5% of the population can travel by train. The environmental arguments used today were not really considered then. Once railways ceased to break even then they were vulnerable - look what happened in the USA where passenger rail travel almost disappeared altogether by the 70s

presumably taffy402 doesn't live in rural France where not only trains but buses are almost non-existent. True, France has TGVs and good services between large towns and around Paris but anywhere else .... you need a taxi. If you can find a taxi outside office hourse which can also be difficult. The country which HAS got public transport sorted is Germany. The smallest village will have either a train or regular bus service.

Looking to the future a bit, I lived in France for many years,their rail system both TGV and national S.N.C.F are fast clean and modern. The intercity fares are reasonable and the local trains where I lived are cheap and frequent. So why is it WE can't get the same service. The reason is the French government see the advantages of a good rail system and are willing to pay for it. Maybe its time to have a management in charge of the rail system who are from the industry them selves

It's been said that there's an estimated 200 years left of coal reserves. That was with it being used at 1970s volume. It was deemed more economically viable to bring it in from overseas. Yes many mines were exhausted but others were shut still with plentiful supplies. Just too expensive to dig.

I think the reason the decision was taken to close the pits was because the coal was running out in the coal pits around Britain but I'm not sure. Please correct me if I'm wrong?

As for investment, as an example, about 5 years ago, there was a picture in the paper of 2 estates that the Tories had spent tax payers money on doing them up to be smart estates in the 80's. One was in Glasgow. In this article both estates were back to being run down estates as they were before investment. And whilst the miners were striking Scargill was driving around in 2 flash cars and had a nice, big house. I'm alright Jack!

Re Wilson's trasport culls; We all know that the second world war began in 1939 - however it's cause was really the preceding 6 years. What has happened under Labour has been just as bad as what happened to the miners under the Tories. The only reason that it doesn't seem so bad is that it hasn't been as publicised as was the miners apart from the car industry where they lobbied for investment but never got. The Textile industry were ignored completely. Even our local MP (also chairman of the textile industry) failed to respond when our local textile mill closed.

I'll repeat. What happened to the miners was terrible. But I clearly remember the miners, under evil Scargill, being disruptive with intent. I also remember seeing on tv kids as young as two shouting "scab!" as their first words. When the Stockton steel industry closed Thatcher was invited up to see for herself what had happened. Whilst there she promised, on the spot, that she would turn things around and that investment would come. It did.

If the popular sheeple theory of the floors pancaking one at a time til the building was into the ground was true, then there would still be hundreds of feet of steel infrastructure sticking up out of the foundation. Also, even if each floor took 1 second per floor, that would be between 60-80 seconds for the total collapse, this took 11-12 seconds, only possible with pro demo teams. All cut in 30 foot sections and shipped overseas to be melted down
