It just so happened that I watched this movie yesterday night. It is most certainly an excellent movie and I would recommend it to everyone. It is such a twisted and bizarre movie, but I loved every single minute of it. It's amazing how the actors make you feel their pain (Joaquin Phoenix) and their guilt (Mark Ruffalo). Get out there and watch it, you won't regret it!

I didn't care for A Beautiful Mind. It was an okay film, but nothing extraordinary. I liked her better in Pollock. As far as Crowe is concern, to me his best work was in 3:10 Yuma, Cinderella Man, Gladiator, L.A. Confidential, Romper Stomper and The Insider. Looking forward to seeing him in American Gangster with Denzel Washington.

I saw this at a screening. mark ruffalo and phoenix were great. You really felt each of their characters' pain. Jennifer Connelly basically played the same role she always do: the suffering wife or girlfriend. I would like to see her stretched as an actor. Her best performance to date is Requiem for a Dream, then maybe Blood Diamond. Was Mira Sorvino's Oscar a fluke or is all of her best work behind her? Well Spike did get a performance out of her in Son of Sam. Spike, Mira needs you.

Thank you for having an open mind and the will to brush up on the subject. :) As for your question, I have to say that it is sad that it had to end up the way it did, but there was never much hope of it turning out any better. European settlers brought disease from Europe to which the natives had no resistance, and their numbers dwindled. It also really just comes down to human nature. It is extremely difficult to put two cultures in the same parcel of land and expect them to willingly share.

I really do feel sorry for these Poor Cherokee People. The Native Americans welcomed us into their Land. And for what? To drive them out of their Homes? Is that how you repay someone who, out of their Kindness, invites you to come and live? Maybe the Assholes, who drove the Cherokees out, should have recalled what the holiday "Thanksgiving" was all about. A Celebration of the Indians and the Pilgrims, joining together in a Feast of Friendship, started by Pocohontas and John Smith.

i had a denist appt and waited for 1 hour then they told me theycouldnt see me b/c they had taken too many walkins that day, so I rescheduled for the next week, and the same thing happened. then it happened again the next time! that's when i remembered this episode of seinfeld, and I gave them this little speech but about what appointments are and what they mean (instead of reservations). i was very pleased with myself. :)

I don't fault them for the antics they did in the mid to late 60's. Rock and Roll was more light-hearted for the most part, and less cynical. They were younger and were just moving with the times. An early 'issue' song like Kicks for instance (about drugs),holds up at least just as well if not better in some people's minds because the sentiment seemed more straightforward and less contrived. Actually I like Indian Reservation just as much but in a different way than a song like Kicks.

Nice video, I like to see that there are people who are still active in the struggle to liberate their homeland from the usurpers. I lived near the Qualla boundary of North Carolina and every time I would go there and sit at Oconaluftee island park and see the cars pass by I would think about how a cherokee feels to live on a tiny speck of land that was salvaged from the greedy hands of the invaders.

Why have reservations for marathi people? We are marathi people this is our home. The reservations should apply to foreigners who come here from weird states of India. Funny, the video is very apt at bringing "Pine Ridge" (and some of the other 8 districts that make up the Pine Ridge Rez) but the focus is on the first and last words at the end of the video; Many Lakota Sioux are Christians by choice. My home is not far from the Rez, I have a grandson whose mother is Lakota, and even though poverty abounds, eqaute it with "third world country", the Lakota people are strong and warriors. They do not give up on principle. They are wonderful people.
