As one of the people on board that flight, I can say that it wasn't anywhere near as scary for us as it was for those watching at the end of the runway. Bath Travel also chartered Concorde to fly from Bournemouth on several occasions, anybody got any footage of any of the take-offs or landings?

I think that runway aint truly short. It might just be either an illusion (from the viewing angle) or the plane had already achieved flight speed but still ran on until they (pilots) reached the near-end of the runway before taking off (as it appears the plane was already speeding at the beginning of this video).

The pilot was sacked after this stunt. First of all it is not a 747 it is a Lockhead. Secondly the pilot was supposed to land at nearby London Airport but got confused and landed here at Bornemonth. I was on the plane. I know this for a fact. Also the copilot was a fagot and tried to have sex with the pilot when they were trying to take off. The result: both pilots sacked and the airline (New Ossian Air) was fined a record 23 million dollars for this stunt. I know this for true. fuck you nigers.

Its not edited at all, by not raising the nose too high initially he increases his airspeed for a few seconds before raising the nose. The plane has enough inertia to keep it moving in the air without the need for lift. Yes if it continued like that until all his momentum was gone it would have been totally different. Same as in a light plane you just have to make sure the nose doesn't exceed the critical angle for too long =)

We didn`t buy this version. It`s a good airplane but I do not agree on the decision on buying only JSF. It`s a multirole airplane it`s more of a bomber then a fighter. This airplane will lose against russian jets like su-37 and their soon to come superjet. You can also have FL under 10000fts. It depends on the transition altitude of each airfield. This guys on the video are using FL060 for example. You have FL whenever you're over the transition level, and altitudes whenever you're under it.

it is good i use it all the time i can track my own flights when i fly around for fun in the US but it only works if using radar services or on a IFR flight plan

haha they are lazy it just shows minute after take off the LNAV is on and the right autopilot is on all they do is change speed and altitude its not flying manual they dont even do throttles either. flight level is the altitude read when set to QNE or standard which is 1013.25 or 29.92 in HG. you have different alt to tell you when to set it in USA its 18,000 feet in the UK normally around 3000 but it changes with different airfields

its a shortend version of alt, above 10,000 or FL 100 thats what you use on the standard 1013.2mB's (hPa's) extract the two trailing0's and thats your FL.

If your vision can be corrected properly with glasse's then you should be ok to learn to intially as a private pilot.(small 2 seater's) However If applying for an apprenticeship with a major airline to fly airliner's this may go against you as there is huge competition. However you might be very intelligent and have good skill's and the airline may decide to train you even though your'e eyesight is not perfect.

You are partly correct, but accuracy is far from the reason. Indicated airspeed = the speed of the air passing over the wings and providing lift. Your stall speed is measured in KIAS (knots indicated) because it then remains constant at all altitudes Mach is % of the speed of sound yes, but is not constant and depends on humidity and air pressure. Therefore, Mach is not an accurate representation of velocity either, but it is an extremely accurate representation of your speed relative to sound

Speedbird your very smart that is correct just to get a little more in depth Mach=% of the speed of sound so usually in a 747 on transatlantic flights like that it will be between Mach .85 and .86 and that mach number is usually calculated by the fmc and the company who has calculated their fuel and u may have notice in sfo pt1 they are at fl370 thats because when they get a little lighter on fuel they will continue up at about 500ft per min so u wouldn't even notice

Ill try and explain: When they fly at high altitude's because the air is very thin measuring the speed by knot's is very inaccurate. The knot gauge is configured to work at low altitude's. When they climb to higher altutide's they rely on the mach. So although it read's 310 knot's at FL330 this reading is totally inaccurate.
