The economy crisis problem is being created by strong forces in the Arab world aiming to destroy the western economy. The Arabic oil wealth is in relatively few hands and many of these people are severely hostile towards western way of living. They started by pumping capital into the marked to create over heating and over rating of property value. They then started to vacuum clean the economy storing money and gold in bunkers and thereby creating the present crises.

Hello, I stumbled upon your videos and am grateful for your clear explanations. However I'd like you to elaborate a bit on the subprime borrower's side of the equation in this crisis, as I've heard of predatory lending, of mortgage brokers. So it was not always the borrower who went to a bank to apply for a mortage. Sometimes brokers were active in recruiting borrowers. And they hid clauses of extra fees in the small print. Could you please explain about mortgage brokers? Tks for the great job.

Then, are different types of shares created, that relate to exposure to default loss. Is it really necessary to explain this? We just need to know the basics. So, then someone (Citibank) borrows short term to buy these mortgage backed securities. Do they pay a dividend? Where are they traded? Who collects the mortgages? Who pays the dividends? Please re-do. Break it way down. Avoid jargon. Explain the basic mechanism without frills, variations, etc. When do credit swaps come in?

Way too complicated. Way too much jargon. Don't give a poor explaination of something complicated and then say it's not important. Keep it simple without extraneous stuff. So, they bank pools mortgages to created a mortgage backed security (MBS). Then is sells it? To whom? As an entity, or are shares sold? Who is responsible for collecting the mortgage payments for the mortgages in a MBS. Does an MBS pay a dividend? Who pays it? To be continued.

Hi Dave, this an informative episode. However I would like to know whether, US Requires a Standard similar in the lines of SOX for Mortgage, aimed at borrowers alone? Will Fiqu Rating be suffice if Banks just follow them cursorily? In India the Market is regulated in a manner, which minimizes the chance of exposure towards such crisis. I also believe that the US Govt. should have stepped into the picture much before.

me thinks they were intending on using the inventory to further push speculation on real estate. Like a game of musical chairs with who got left with the debt if they were not sold. The fundamentals of the economy like a lowered value of the USD should have triggered some caution. It's hard to say, but $85bil debt with AIG is A LOT of value to mismanage. Just my 2 cents. I've seen several clips on youtube of economic wise men, like Max Keiser, Peter Schiff, and Gerald Celente, people who predicted the current crisis and former ones, say that the bailout will cause more inflation as they just print more money, and that more of that kind of bailout will eventually destroy the dollar. They have all gotten rid of their dollars. Even if the bail-out plan is well meant, how is it supposed to work?

I think that the people who put the bailout together are generally trying to do good and I think that if the bailout was paid for by reducing spending in other areas of government then it could be a positive thing. Unfortunately however the government is not willing to do this so in the end it is going to create a huge amount of debt which could have very detrimental long term affects. Best Regards, Dave

You are correct that the government will pay for the bailout by issuing debt however that debt will be bought by foreign and US financial institutions, governments, and individuals so this is who the interest payments will be made to. You are also correct that interest paid on debt bought by foreign governments, institutions and individuals will be money that is sent out of the country. Best Regards, Dave

As i understand it, the money for a 'bail out' is to be borrowed from the reserve bank of america. The interest on this loan will be paid off over a decade to the reserve bank.. the american taxpayer will foot the interest payments and principle on these loans for many years, sucking money out of the country. Im not sure why america has to borrow money from iteself with interest to do this.. If im wrong plz explain otherwise, im not A+ on economics but thats what i thought.

Hi Dave, thanks for explaining. I feel I got a fairly good understading of the sub-prime crisis now. One question: Do you agree with those who say the bail-out plan is a big mistake (maybe even fraud)? Why, or why not? All I know of favor for the bail-out plan is I remember Palin saying, "well, we gotta do SOMETHING." From those against the plan it seems to be a short term solution that will make the crisis ALOT worse. You seem like a smart guy in this area so I'd love your opinion. Thanks

People who are against the bailout generally feel that we need to let the market work through these problems on its own and that while this may be more painful in the short term in the long run we will be much better off. Glad you liked it and thanks for the comment. They did this by taking a pool of mortgages that were of all the same quality, and then dividing them up based on who took losses first. The people at the top were the last to take losses so that slice of the pool got a AAA rating and then the people at the bottom were the first to take losses so that slice got a junk rating. One question: How is it that the pool of loans could be divided up and at least some of them given a AAA rating? Is it simply that those were the least risky of the risky loans, thereby "earning" that rating? If so, that's pretty crazy!-- Thanks

Thanks for the comment I am glad you liked it. 1. Like in most bubbles, there was so much money being made while things were good that prudence went out the window. 2. A lot of the legislation that many feel started the fire here was put into place under the carter administration. Many also argue that the bush administration also tried to implement some new oversite of fannie and freddie and adjust some of these regulations but were blocked by the democrats. Great videos. I have two questions: (1)High risk mortgages and circumventing regulatory practices is a formula for cutting your own throat. Why would these "financial geniuses" put their own companies at risk by buying and holding onto these investments, and (2)many Republicans want to put the whole blame on the Carter administration. Why? It seems to me that the previous and current administrations thought they had a free pass and chose to ignore what was happening.

Hi Dave, very good lessons, well explained. I picked out charts for 2 different stocks and an index (FXP, DIG, $COMPX) on market close on 11/13 to illustrate this question: they look almost identical!!!! I know they should be somewhat related, but all the time I thought that I could be shorting a fund of Chinese companies (just turn the FXP chart upside down) or buying into oil and gas; but compare the charts, they are practicallly identical! How can it be?

Hi eshmaloner, Double/triple tops/bottoms can form in a range, however I think most would agree that they are at their most potent when they are at the top or bottom of a trend. The method outlined in the video does wait for the bounce off of the support or resistance line before entering a trade. How aggressive one is there is really a matter of preference. I am a little confused how we should differentiate a double top/bottom from stocks trading in a range. In your previous example of Nike, there seemed to be a triple top and a triple bottom, yet you implied that a good trade would be to buy the triple bottom (as it took off from there). Would you wait to see if it bounced a little from that triple bottom before entering the position?

Great video's Dave. Quesion, why would you not put your exit closer to the neckline as opposed to the shoulder? Using H&S pattern, you'd think that a momentum trend upwards will occur, so as to limit your losses, you might place the stop loss just below or in between the neckline and the top of the shoulder. Possibly you are giving yourself room for some volatility?

There are many high paying trading jobs that I would think one would have a much better chance of obtaining if they traded actively during college. This being said there are lots of other professions where one can make money, and perhaps a lot easier than trading, so I think it really just depends on your personality and what you want to do. Hi aasyraf, This is a matter of preference. Many traders use the close of the candle for all of their analysis as they consider this a truer representation than the high or the low. Other traders will use the high or the low of the candle. If I want to be conservative then I would use the close in this instance and if I wanted to be more aggressive I would use the top and bottom of the candle but again thats just personal preference so make your own decision.
