she's with junjun and linlin at the very beginning, and i saw her at 2:06 and 3:41. i think she sang at 4:33 and 4:48 and i think towards the end but they were very small parts compared to the other 8th gen. members. maybe that's because aika had been in a few performances already

It's her voice and her personality. I think her voice is pretty annoying, but that's just me. I'd much rather listen to someone with a voice like Yossie's as opposed to Koharu trying to sound cute. Also, it always feels like she's trying too hard to be adorable. I have nothing against trying to be better, and with cuteness, but I think that she tries too hard to be the cute one, and her singing/everything suffers.

I'm amazed how terrible alot of them sound considering it's their job to sing. I'd say only Aibon and Miki (and maybe Maki) sound decent in a live setting. I think they're running some kind vocal backup track... because you hear parts where Abe Natsumi's vibrato comes through... after hearing her line in the solo... there is no way that other things would come through so crisp.

Yes! Though the men usually have jobs so they have the money to spend on attending the concerts. But the girls are into them as well, though they get overshadowed by the men more often than not. What I find is interesting is that this reminds me of the English music scene invasion in the early '60s and the way the girls went wild for the mostly male groups then. Try "AKB48 featurette from Japanorama" on YouTube. It is an English speaking short on the whole concept. Enjoy exploring YouTube.

And, I believe, this song is the opening song for H!P concerts. H!P has BeeryZ, Cute, Vuden, and a mixing of others. The music is simple and clear, the dancing is great, and they dress in costumes that are great. Their age seems to run from 11 to 18. The cutest song and routine I've found is AKB48's "AKB48-???????" which, I understand, was number 1 in Japan. It's a childrens song that strikes me as wonderful in its simplicity. I'm even learning to sing it in Japanese.

I'm an American too, and what I've been able to glean from my months of exploring YouTube, this is a Japanese experience that has been going on for at least the last 10 years. Young girl singing groups mobbed by older male called, I believe it is "Atoku" or fans. H!P is Hello! Project is one of the main groups, made up of smaller teams of girls that sing and dance. AKB48 is another simular to H!P. Their music is simple and basic as American music used to be in the 60's & 70's. Enjoy!

Its normal for Japanese concerts. Bands usually have on official color so you can buy merchandise (t-shirts, glowsticks, balloons, etc.) to show support at concerts. But Hello! Project is different because instead of the whole group having one, each individual girl has her own color. Also, Morning Musume and C-ute members are the only ones who've officially announced which color is theirs, everyone else was decided by the fans (they usually just pick the girls favorite color).

Uh, no, there were many male roles: Prince Franz (Rika/Nacchi/Aya), the Duke (Yossie), the Duke's son (Koharu), the Duke's henchman (Makoto)... While the production design wasn't as strictly masculine as an official Takarazuka production would be, they were still playing male roles.
