prachtig wou dat ik de oude stad heb kunnen zien, mijn familie komt van oorsprong uit delfshaven en mn oorspronkelijke overgrootmoeder is 2 jaar na de oorlog overleden dankzij de oorlog (beter gezegt het bombardement van de engelsen) ik heb gelukkig haast al mn overgrootouders gekend en heb ook al mn grootouders gekend en de verhalen waren altijd zo indrukwekkend. en vind de combi allochtoon/ oorlog nergens op slaan (en dit zegt een ras rotterdamse)

Ik wel een beetje. De Tweede Wereldoorlog zorgde voor het langzame insluipen van het linkse, xenoFIELE gedachtengoed dat ons nu cultureel "verrijkt" heeft. Na de Tweede Wereldoorlog werd zo een beetje alles dat naar pattriotisme rook langzaam aan monddood gemaakt door het gelijk op een hoop met "fascisme" te gooien. Both (but especialy my late father) told me about 14 May, 1940 - how scared they were. I grew up listening to their war stories. So touching. This was a powerful video for me. Now I can see exactly how Rotterdam was back then, my own parents were children. Thank you SO much for posting. Just wished my Papa coulda seen it. ...He'd have been very moved.
