doosierty, respectfully I still don't see his point. You'd have fail safes like routing some sort of emergency back up power to the system for a couple of minutes to enable a safe pull over. A fail safe system like that can be as redundant as you like. We are missing something else here, Short of a dead battery or alternator the statement is based on a catastrophic power failure you don't even get to see in existing cars let alone future ones.

It depends if its electric assist power steering, or actual drive-by-wire. There are a lot of GM cars with electric assist power steering which is the same thing as normal hydraulic except the pump is replaced with a motor. If the system fails or car shuts down you can still turn the wheel.

Its true it is loaded with electronics but what he means is that because of the mechanical linkages, you can still operate today's vehicle. If you turn today's car off without removing the keys the car will still be able to turn and you will be able to control it, guiding it someplace safe. With The GM HY-WIRE the steering is strictly electrical not mechanical so if the power supply shuts down, everything shuts down. While he or she didn't need to be so vulgar, they have a point.

MR9 engine as 15.1 comp & example... 1.6 honda engine has 90 mm stroke... and 9.2 compression older diesel engines (20 15 years ago) had arround 32:1 compression then TDi came... drop compression to 20's presently with low anti-friction aditives oils API SM and "strict" emissions they are already 15, with tha added fact of the complicated injection systems besides due to stroke, compression is due to piston and combustion chamber size as in gas engine .

What kind of V8 is this? It's an embarassment. It's just like any other modern car - extremely quiet. All you can hear is the tyres. All the manufacturers are completely muffling their engine sound up these days. The friggin' birds in the video are louder!

i can't stand gm, there just a bunch of posers, the only reason they are coming out with the f'ing car is because they see that the ford mustang is having total success. same with the new dodge challenger. everything ford did, they are doing too. ford redisigned the 05 mustang and gave it retro styleing and now both are copying the idea. at least ford is actualy original and giving their muscle a glass panoramic roof. if they want to bring back a legend, bring back the ev1.

Seriously, after owning a 3rd gen, then a 98 Z28 4th gen camaro, i'm simply TIRED of Waiting...GM should have put this out for 2007, there is absolutely no reason to wait this long. Plus it'll be a shame if the LS3 is not included. GM lost my interest is this car, im buying a Vette instead.
